After you have set up your epiKshare appliance, you need to configure your epiKshare installation to suit your environment and make it usable for your users. Some of them are described here.

First of all

The configuration of an administrative user. This step is mandatory for all new installations, even if the epiKshare server should be connected to an existing directory service like LDAP or Microsoft Active Directory later.

  1. Open a webbrowser and navigate to the hostname or IP address of your epiKshare installation. You will see this page:


Please make sure you choose a strong password since this user will have the rights to control everything within your epiKshare installation.
  1. Please choose the path where the data of the users should be stored in the file system. This can also be a mounted network share.
